• Wednesday's 6:15 PM Mass and confessions move to St Columba's while the boiler at St Brigid's is replaced.

  • Our Lady Star of the Sea is closed all Saturday while the floor is resealed; the 9:15 AM Mass on Sunday goes ahead.

  • All Saints falls on Sunday this year, so the usual Sunday times stand. Daylight saving ends overnight: set clocks back an hour on Saturday.

  • Masses for the dead at 8:30 AM and 7:15 PM at St Columba's. The November Book of Remembrance is out by the font in all three churches.

Terms of Use

What you agree to when you read this website, send the office a message, follow a link to give, or watch Mass online.

Example text for the Ordo template, written for St Columba’s Parish, an invented Catholic parish. It is an example to be reviewed by a lawyer, and checked against your diocese’s own policy, before you publish; nothing here is legal advice.

1. Who publishes this site

St Columba's Parish, 16 Chapel Row, Wrenmouth, publishes this website. Reading it or sending a message means you accept these terms; if you prefer not to, the parish office is a phone call away.

2. Mass times and notices

We update Mass times, notices and the parish sheet every week, but times can change at short notice: a priest is ill, a funeral is booked, the heating fails. Notices on the home page take priority over the regular times. For a baptism, a wedding or a long drive, call the office the day before.

Holy days of obligation and Christmas and Easter times are posted at least two weeks ahead.

3. The contact form

Use the form for parish matters only. Do not send anything unlawful, abusive or anyone else's personal details without their permission. The form is not monitored outside office hours: in an emergency, such as a request for the Anointing of the Sick, call (555) 555-0172.

4. Giving and other outside services

An outside giving provider handles every online gift, with its own conditions. The parish is not responsible for the provider's service, fees or availability. Questions about a gift already made can go to the office, which will contact the provider for you.

The livestream is hosted by YouTube; maps open in Google Maps or Apple Maps. Each of these services has its own terms.

5. Words, photos and the parish sheet

Texts, photos and parish sheets on this website are the parish's own or used with permission. You may print or share them for personal or parish use; please ask the office before using them anywhere else.

Scripture quotations are from the Lectionary for Mass approved for use in the dioceses of the United States, used with the customary permission.

6. Links

We link to the giving provider, YouTube, maps and other websites that may help you. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content.

7. Limits of what we promise

We take care that this website is accurate and available, but we cannot promise it will always be either. As far as the law permits, the parish is not liable for loss caused by relying on information on the website or by its being unavailable.

8. Questions and revisions

A revised version replaces this one here, dated at the top. Questions: the parish office, (555) 555-0172, office@stcolumbas.example.
